"I came to teach during my gap year between undergraduate and graduate school. But God had bigger plans and called me to stay long term. Teaching the team kids is in the highlight real of my life. I have no background in education, but it didn't matter. The kids are eager to learn and so fun to be around.  Every day was an adventure. We did science experiments, learned sheet music, made crafts, and watched  cool videos. I am so glad God called me to Moz, and that he kick-started my time here by letting me teach these awesome kids!"

"My time in Mozambique was amazing. My most favorite parts were time spent with the team, out in villages or climbing the mountain (with whoever I could convince to climb it with me). Teacher nights, P.E. class, the long days of school, soccer outside the land, competitive nerts games, mango season, attempting to eat xima and good conversations with sweet people is just the tip of the iceberg for my time in Mozambique. "

"The days I spent in the classroom with these amazing students was total joy!  We built our own incubator, traveled to ancient Egypt, Greece and China and created our own 3D Christmas tree. The days we crowded into vehicles to journey out to church provided me with insight into the nature of family dynamics and the deep love and dedication to Christ that permeates every moment of every day. My favorite moments were the gifts of time spent in the homes of each family...game nights, teacher nights, movie nights, birthday celebrations, THANKSGIVING and TEAM NIGHTS! My life has been forever changed by the nine months I shared life in constant community in Montepuez."

The complete and total acceptance and love I received from the missionary team and children was exactly what I needed at that time in my life. And, the companionship of the teachers I worked with as well as their support for me was extremely helpful. I was truly blessed by my time spent in Montepuez in ways too numerous to mention!"
